چکیده
The current study was conducted on the Eichhornia crassipes plant after collecting it, from Ghazi River, one of water channels branching Najaf Sea in city Al-Ashraf to reveal about its ability absorb existing Nickel contaminated Kufa River. dosed weekly with 7.1 mg/L for 21 days acclimatization laboratory using plastic basins (10 L capacity) equal dimensions, and accumulated inside tissues when compared control where, concentration roots 0.59 mg/kg leaves 0.32 mg/kg.As percentage removal mineral water, results showed E.crassipes 99.4% total water. Then, rate gradually decreased at end experiment as a result continuous bioaccumulation within until absorption 94.4% concentration. This leads us hypothesis that has high capacity first decreases element continues accumulate plant.

Allelopathic Effects of Water Hyacinth [Eichhornia crassipes]
Eichhornia crassipes (Mart) Solms is an invasive weed known to out-compete native plants and negatively affect microbes including phytoplankton. The spread and population density of E. crassipes will be favored by global warming. The aim here was to identify compounds that underlie the effects on microbes. The entire plant of E. crassipes was collected from El Zomor canal, River Nile (Egypt), w...

Conserving water resources and protecting them from pollution are of high account in the natural cycle of our life. This study has tried to determine the refining potential and capacity of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) in order to remove the cadmium from water, studying the influence of factors such as initial concentration of cadmium, contact time, absorbent mass, and pH. Results have ...

متن کاملRemoval of Cadmium and Zinc by Water Hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes
Toxic heavy metal pollution of water and soil is a major environmental problem, and most conventional remediation approaches do not provide acceptable solutions. Wetland plants are being used successfully for the phytoremediation of trace elements in natural and constructed wetlands. This study demonstrates the phytoremediation potential of water hyacinth Eichhornia crassipes, for the removal o...
متن کاملMethane Production by Anaerobic Digestion of Water Hyacinth (eichhornia Crassipes)
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is an aquatic biomass species that exhibits prolific growth in many s s o f h e world (1). It has been suggested as a strong candidate for production of methane because of high biomass yield potential (2). Several studies have been carried out which establish that methane can be produced from water hyacinth under anaerobic digestion conditions (3-6). Both b...
